Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has welcomed former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Moshood Adeoti, alongside his supporters into the Accord Party, describing the development as a major boost to grassroots mobilization ahead of future political contests in the state.
Adeoti and his loyalists were formally received during a ceremony held in Osogbo, where the former SSG pledged support for Governor Adeleke’s second-term ambition, citing what he described as visible developmental strides recorded by the administration in the last three years.
Speaking at the event, Adeoti commended the governor’s leadership style and people-oriented governance, noting that the administration has remained closely connected with residents across communities in the state.
According to him, the decision to align with Adeleke was informed by the tangible impact of government policies and projects on the lives of ordinary citizens.
“Our resolve is guided by the principle of grassroots development and commitment to the progress of Osun State. We believe the current administration represents continuity in growth and inclusiveness,” Adeoti said.
In his remarks, Governor Adeleke described Adeoti as a long-time associate and experienced grassroots mobilizer whose entrance into the party would further strengthen its structure across the state.
He assured new members of equal opportunities within the party, urging them to commence mobilization efforts at ward and local government levels to consolidate support.
“Every member of our party, whether old or new, has equal responsibilities and opportunities. Together, we will deepen development and deliver more dividends of democracy to our people,” the governor stated.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and sustained engagement with citizens to expand ongoing development initiatives across Osun communities.
Commenting on the development, the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, said the induction of Adeoti and his supporters reflects growing confidence in the administration’s performance.
“The governor welcomes leaders and stakeholders who are committed to the continued progress of Osun State. This alignment strengthens the collective drive towards sustainable development and people-focused governance,” Rasheed said.
The meeting also featured discussions on strategies to enhance grassroots mobilization and ensure government programmes reach all parts of the state.
Dignitaries at the event included Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olumide Adewale Egbedun; Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Akinyode Oyewusi; Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Teslim Igbalaye; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye; Osun PDP Chairman, Hon.
