By-Election Victories Affirm Nigerians’ Trust in Tinubu, Says Lagos APC

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that the outcome of Saturday’s by-elections in parts of the country underscores what it described as growing national confidence in President Bola Tinubu and the ruling party’s reform-driven agenda.

In a statement issued on Sunday by its spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, the party said the results amounted to a democratic validation of the administration’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” which it noted is focused on economic reforms, infrastructure expansion and institutional strengthening.

According to the Lagos APC, the victories recorded by its candidates in states including Rivers, Kano and the Federal Capital Territory reflect public endorsement of the Federal Government’s policy direction.

“The outcome of these by-elections represents a clear and democratic referendum on the leadership of President Bola Tinubu and the policy direction of our great party,” Oladejo stated.

He commended voters for what he termed their renewed faith in the APC’s governance philosophy, adding that the electorate had once again demonstrated confidence in the party’s capacity to deliver on its promises.

The party argued that the results were a rebuttal to opposition parties, accusing them of prioritising rhetoric and social media engagement over practical policy alternatives.

“These results send a strong message that governance is not driven by online noise or digital popularity, but by tangible performance and grassroots connection,” the statement read.

The Lagos APC further maintained that electoral success is anchored on sustained engagement with the people and measurable achievements, rather than virtual influence.

Projecting ahead to the 2027 general elections, the party expressed optimism that the momentum generated by the by-election victories would consolidate its standing nationwide.

“The momentum demonstrated in these by-elections is a reflection of trust earned through decisive leadership, courageous reforms and commitment to national development,” Oladejo added.

The party also lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for what it described as the credible conduct of the polls, and commended security agencies for ensuring a peaceful exercise.

Reaffirming its support for President Tinubu, the Lagos APC called on Nigerians across party lines to unite in the interest of national progress and sustainable development.
