APC Scores Big in Council Polls, Yilwatda Applauds Party’s Grassroots Strength

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has hailed the party’s outstanding performance in the recently concluded council elections across Rivers, Kano, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Speaking on the outcome, Yilwatda described the results as a reflection of the people’s will and a clear demonstration of APC’s growing grassroots influence.

In a statement shared on X, the APC chairman congratulated party supporters in the FCT, Kano, and Rivers states for contributing to what he called a peaceful and successful electoral exercise. He noted that the victories were a testament to the resilience, unity, and mobilization strength of the party at the local level.

Yilwatda specifically congratulated the five APC chairmanship candidates who emerged victorious in AMAC, Kuje, Abaji, Bwari, and Kwali area councils of the FCT, saying the results underscore the party’s increasing dominance in grassroots politics.

He also acknowledged the outcome in Gwagwalada, where the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secured the chairmanship seat, noting that the result demonstrates that democratic processes were allowed to prevail without interference.

In addition, Yilwatda commended four APC candidates who won their state house of assembly elections in Kano and Rivers states, describing their victories as a continuation of the party’s growing electoral successes nationwide.

The APC chairman urged party leaders, stakeholders, and members across the three states to remain disciplined, united, and committed to delivering good governance in line with the party’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“The people have spoken through the ballot, and democracy has prevailed,” Yilwatda affirmed.
