Yusuf Launches APC E-Registration in Kano to Strengthen Party Membership

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, on Tuesday officially flagged off the All Progressives Congress (APC) e-registration exercise in the state, describing it as a major step toward boosting internal democracy and expanding party membership.
The launch comes shortly after Governor Yusuf’s return to the APC on Monday, according to a statement by his spokesperson, Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa.
At the ceremony, Governor Yusuf said the technology-driven initiative is designed to modernise the party’s administrative processes and ensure accurate, verifiable membership records across Kano. He described the exercise as transparent, inclusive, and efficient, emphasizing its importance in building a credible database for the party.
“The adoption of technology will not only improve efficiency but also guarantee fairness in party activities, including congresses and primaries,” Yusuf said.
The governor urged all party members and supporters to actively participate, noting that the exercise would enhance trust, accountability, and fairness within the APC. He commended the party leadership for embracing digital tools in line with global best practices in political organisation.
The e-registration will be carried out across all wards in Kano State, offering a seamless platform for new and existing members to register or update their information. The initiative is expected to strengthen grassroots structures and boost participation ahead of future political engagements.
