Obokun APC Disowns Anonymous Statement, Affirms Loyalty to Party Leaders

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State has dismissed a recent press statement allegedly issued by one Fajuyigbe Joseph Olaniran, describing the signatory as “non-existent” and unknown to the party’s membership register.

In a detailed response released on Sunday by the Public and Media Communication Unit of the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency Office, the party said investigations across Ward 04 records revealed no member bearing such a name.

The statement noted that while the party ordinarily ignores anonymous publications, it was compelled to respond “when fiction attempts to speak with the voice of leadership.”

According to the APC, “Following exhaustive verification across the Ward 04 membership register and stakeholder structure, no individual named Fajuyigbe Joseph Olaniran exists – not as a card-carrying member, executive or stakeholder.”

The party warned against the use of pseudonyms to create disaffection within its ranks, stressing that authority in the APC is earned through participation and not through “emergency identities hurriedly assembled to issue press releases.”

The Obokun chapter reaffirmed its respect for leaders at national, state and local levels, listing prominent figures from Ward 04 including Senator Francis Fadahunsi, Otunba Jumoke Ogunkeyede, Barrister Dupe Ajayi Gbadebo, Hon. Jide Adebisi and several other elders whose contributions to the party were described as “unquestionable.”

It clarified that its earlier communication, which generated controversy over the use of a “fox and rat” analogy, was misinterpreted. The party explained that the metaphor referred to external political interference and not to Obokun elders or stakeholders.

“The release was political analysis, not abuse. There was no reference to Obokun leaders, and none was implied,” the statement said.

Urging members to embrace civility, the APC cautioned against panic reactions and manufactured outrage, adding that unity cannot be built on distortion.

The party reiterated its commitment to internal discipline and due process, declaring support for the 2026 AMBO project in Osun and President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 bid.

“Obokun APC is not a jungle; it is an institution. Let us disagree without destruction and compete without contempt,” the statement concluded.

The release was signed by the Public and Media Communication Unit for Hon. Oluwole Oke’s Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency Office.
