Former Consultant on Communications and Strategy to the President of the Senate, Kenny Okolugbo, has called for the establishment of special courts to handle corruption trials in Nigeria.

Okolugbo made the remarks on Wednesday during an interview on Arise Television, which Patriotic Insights News monitored.

He stated, “The judiciary in Nigeria is currently facing significant challenges, particularly with the rise in corruption cases. There is a need to hold politically exposed persons accountable to set a critical example for the society.

“Undermining anti-corruption agencies will impede the fight against graft. Accountability is essential, and it must be demonstrated through decisive action. Currently, only former Plateau State Governor Joshua Dariye and his Adamawa State counterpart, Murtala Nyako, have been successfully indicted.”

Okolugbo emphasized that special courts for corruption trials would enhance efficiency and ensure that high-profile cases are not delayed, strengthening public confidence in the justice system.
