Fubara Tells Supporters to Stay Calm Amid Wike Feud

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has called on his supporters to remain calm as tensions persist between him and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

Speaking at the New Year banquet on Thursday at the Government House in Port Harcourt, Governor Fubara dismissed critics, saying that those “barking” are only doing so because they do not understand the situation.

He reassured his supporters that the machinery for his administration and re-election bid is firmly in place.

Governor Fubara said, “Don’t be disturbed by what is happening. Caesar once said that the only reason a dog barks is when it doesn’t understand. If the dog knows you, it does not need to bark. The barking you hear is from those who do not understand. We are not barking because we understand. We know where we are going and we have set everything in place to make the journey smooth.”

The governor’s remarks come amid heightened political rivalry and public exchanges between him and Minister Wike, a situation that has drawn widespread attention across Rivers State.
