Ex-Osun OYES Members Endorse Najeem Salaam, Pledge 50,000 Votes.
In a show of solidarity and loyalty, former members of the Osun State Youth Employment Scheme (OYES) from all 30 local government areas have endorsed Dr. Najeem Salaam, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) gubernatorial candidate. The group pledged to mobilize at least 50,000 votes in his favor.
The endorsement meeting, held on Wednesday at Dr. Salaam’s residence in Osogbo, was filled with a sense of purpose and shared history. Comrade Wahab Kazeem Olanrenwaju, coordinator of the group, said their support for Salaam stems from his unwavering loyalty to former Governor Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
“We are backing Dr. Najeem Salaam because he has remained loyal to Ogbeni Aregbesola. He is not a betrayer,” Olanrenwaju said. “More importantly, we remember how Ogbeni Aregbesola liberated many of us from poverty during his administration. That period changed our lives, and we cannot forget it.”
The meeting drew key personalities, including Dr. Najeem Folashayo Salaam, Hon. Segun Olanibi, Director-General of the Najeem Salaam Campaign Organization, ADC State Women Leader Fumilola Bosede Oyebode, and Comrade Olanrenwaju himself.
The group expressed confidence that Salaam would continue to champion policies that empower youths and promote development across Osun State. The endorsement, they said, is not just about politics; it is a commitment to uphold the values and progress initiated under Aregbesola’s leadership.
Sources say that the backing of ex-OYES members could be a major boost for Salaam, especially in communities where they hold significant influence, signaling a campaign driven by loyalty, shared experience, and hope for continuity in youth empowerment.
