Peter Obi Declares Loyalty to ADC, Rules Out “Joining” Move

Former Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has clarified that he has no intention of formally joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC), insisting that he has always been part of the coalition.

Speaking during an X Space session on Sunday night, Obi said he has been involved with the ADC from its inception and described the party as a coalition he already belongs to.

“I am not joining ADC. I can’t re-join what I am already a part of,” he stated. “I’ve been part of the coalition from day one.”

Obi further emphasised that his respect for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar remains intact. “Nobody is stepping down for me in ADC. We have all agreed to work together, and Atiku remains my respected leader,” he added.

The former presidential candidate’s clarification comes amid speculation about his political alignment ahead of the 2027 elections.
