National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, has revealed that major world powers, including the United States, United Kingdom, and France, are lending technical support to Nigeria in its ongoing fight against terrorism.
Ribadu made the disclosure during a visit to the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Northern Region, Bishop Bulus Yohanna, following the recent abduction of students from St. Mary’s Private Catholic School, Papiri, in Niger State.
The NSA said President Bola Tinubu is deeply concerned over the incident and has directed all security agencies to ensure the safe return of the kidnapped children.
Addressing Christian leaders and parents at St. Michael’s Catholic Cathedral, Ribadu said, “This is a painful period for all of us. But I assure you, we will rescue your children. The President has suspended official engagements, including a scheduled trip, to focus entirely on this matter. The Federal Government is taking full responsibility to restore peace in the affected communities.”
He added, “The whole world stands with us. This evil will not prevail. Many good people from across the globe, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and other countries, are coming to support us. Your children will return safely—that is our solemn promise.”
Ribadu’s statement comes amid rising concerns over repeated attacks on schools in Northern Nigeria, which have continued to provoke national outrage and demand urgent intervention.
