PDP Shifts Osun Governorship Primary

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has postponed its Osun State governorship primary earlier scheduled for this week.

The National Organising Secretary, Hon. Umar Mohammed Bature, announced the decision in a statement issued on Monday, saying the shift became necessary to complete ongoing consultations and ensure full compliance with the party’s constitution, guidelines, and the Electoral Act.

According to the statement, a new date for the primary will be announced after all procedural requirements have been concluded.

Bature reaffirmed that Governor Ademola Adeleke remains the only duly screened, cleared, and confirmed aspirant for the party’s ticket in the state. He noted that no other individual purchased nomination forms or participated in the screening exercise.

He urged delegates, party members, and supporters across Osun State to remain calm and rely solely on official communication from the National Secretariat.

“The PDP remains committed to transparency, internal democracy, and strict adherence to due process in all its activities. We appreciate the patience and loyalty shown by our supporters as we work towards a smooth and credible nomination exercise,” the statement added.
