Oluwo Dismisses Claim of Bandit Attack on Iwo–Osogbo Road

The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, on Friday debunked reports alleging a bandit attack along the Iwo–Osogbo road, describing the claim as false and misleading.

The monarch insisted no such incident occurred, challenging anyone with credible evidence to come forward. He maintained that Osun State has long enjoyed a reputation for peace and should not be smeared with unfounded allegations.

“The report of a bandit attack along the Iwo–Osogbo road was untrue. It was a fabricated story aimed at discrediting the route. Osun remains one of the most peaceful states in the country,” he said.

Reaffirming the security of Iwoland, Oba Akanbi added: “There was no attack on Wednesday ,I challenge anyone with proof to present it. Under my reign, Iwo is secured. If there were any incident, I would personally be on ground to defend my people.”

He urged residents to remain vigilant, cooperate with security agencies, and avoid spreading unverified information capable of causing unnecessary panic.
