Cubana Chief Priest Tells Tinubu: APC Can’t Win Southeast Without Kanu’s Release

Nightlife entrepreneur and political influencer, Cubana Chief Priest, has issued a stark warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that the All Progressives Congress (APC) risks losing massively in the South-East during the 2027 general elections if Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu, remains in detention.

In a social media post that has generated widespread debate, Chief Priest, who is known for his influence within political and social circles, told Tinubu and his son, Seyi Tinubu, that no political maneuvering could secure votes for the APC in the region without Kanu’s freedom.

“As long as MNK remains in jail, you cannot and will never get up to 10,000 votes in South-East come 2027,” he wrote, describing Kanu as the “supreme leader” of the South-East whose detention has caused “so much setback.”

The influencer criticised South-East ministers in the current administration, describing them as “cowards” incapable of generating goodwill for the APC. He further dismissed several APC stakeholders seen with Seyi Tinubu recently, accusing them of having little grassroots influence.

“They can’t even go to their hometowns because of MNK’s detention. They only want lands from you to develop and sell,” he alleged.

Chief Priest also condemned President Tinubu’s decision to send a minister to represent him at Governor Alex Otti’s project commissioning in Abia State, calling the representative “incompetent” and accusing him of betraying the region. He praised Otti as one of the few figures capable of winning genuine support from the people.

Addressing Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Chief Priest warned that the governor’s political legacy could be jeopardized if he fails to intervene in securing Kanu’s release.

“Your legacies will be swept under the carpet… Without MNK outside, everything shall fall into pieces,” he wrote.

He reiterated that Kanu’s release is key to rallying meaningful political support for Tinubu in 2027. “Southeast belongs to MNK. These are the words of the gods,” he concluded.

The post has sparked intense reactions online, with many expressing surprise at the bluntness of the message coming from a figure widely perceived as close to the ruling party.
