Osun 2026: APC Must Uphold Competence and Merit, Says K-RAD

Barrister Kunle Rasheed Adegoke (K-RAD), a governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, has called on the party to prioritize competence, merit, and vision in selecting its candidate for the 2026 governorship election.
Speaking during a visit by the Progressives e-Group (PeG), a leading online progressive media platform in Osun, Adegoke stressed the importance of reforming the party’s internal reward and recognition mechanisms to motivate loyalty and commitment at all levels.
“There is an urgent need to review how our party acknowledges and rewards loyal members. Too often, hardworking individuals are overlooked. Changing this narrative is critical to sustaining enthusiasm at the grassroots,” he said.
Adegoke, who is seeking the APC ticket for the August 8, 2026 poll, warned against presenting candidates lacking competence and vision.
“Osun is too important to be left in the hands of mediocrity. The APC must field candidates with the ideas, experience, and vision to move the state forward. Merit must take precedence over background or political zone,” he added.
He also commended Progressives e-Group for its role in promoting the image of the APC and pledged continued support for the platform’s initiatives.
“You have my respect and support. The work you are doing for the progressive family is invaluable, and I will continue to assist in any way I can,” he said.
