Adeleke Camp Dismisses APC’s ₦1trn Allocation Claim as Falsehood

• Says Osun residents enjoying real value for money under current administration

The Osun State Government has dismissed as false and mischievous the claim by the All Progressives Congress (APC) that Governor Ademola Adeleke has collected and squandered ₦1 trillion in federal allocations since 2022.

Reacting to the opposition party’s allegation on Tuesday, the spokesperson to the governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, described the figure as “a devilish fabrication and failed propaganda from a party already facing another electoral defeat in 2026.”

Rasheed, in a statement issued in Osogbo, said the Adeleke administration has not received anything near ₦1 trillion and has instead prudently managed available resources to address critical areas of development such as infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, technology, workers’ welfare, pension management, and grassroots empowerment.

> “Only an anti-people party will claim not to see the almost 322 kilometres of roads constructed across the state, 200 renovated health centres, over 100 rehabilitated schools, ongoing road dualisation projects, waterworks rehabilitation, flyovers, and the upgrading of Osogbo stadium to five-star standard,” Rasheed stated.

He added that Governor Adeleke has been offsetting half salaries and pension arrears inherited from the APC administration, noting that over 30,000 pensioners have been enrolled in the state’s health insurance scheme — a model later adopted by the Federal Government.

According to him, the Federal Debt Management Office (DMO) confirmed that Adeleke’s government has reduced Osun’s debt profile by 40 per cent without borrowing a kobo since 2022.

> “Out of selflessness, the governor is not collecting security votes. Security spending is processed within the official approval system,” he said.

Rasheed also accused the APC of hypocrisy over the lingering local government fund dispute, stressing that the state government has been shouldering the financial obligations of the LGs to ensure workers and families do not suffer.

He maintained that the Adeleke administration’s financial prudence and people-oriented policies are evident in the improved ranking of Osun in education and healthcare, adding that “the opposition should at least keep silent and allow Osun people to enjoy good governance and the ongoing delivery of democratic dividends.”
