PFN Declares ‘Christian Genocide’ in Nigeria, Urges Tinubu to Partner with Trump

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has raised the alarm over what it describes as an ongoing Christian genocide in the country. PFN President, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, has called on President Bola Tinubu to cooperate with United States President Donald Trump in tackling the attacks on Christian communities.

Speaking in Ibadan on Friday, Bishop Oke highlighted a series of incidents, including the killings of Deborah Samuel, the abduction of Leah Sharibu, the Chibok girls kidnapping, and attacks in Benue, Taraba, Southern Kaduna, Owo in Ondo State, as well as Niger and Plateau states. He asserted that hundreds of Christians, including pastors, have lost their lives.

“There is Christian genocide in Nigeria. No Christian group is attacking Muslims. The patience of the church is being stretched,” Bishop Oke said.

He clarified that the violence is carried out by radical groups such as Boko Haram, ISWAP, and their affiliates, and not by Muslims at large.

Bishop Oke urged President Tinubu to work with Trump rather than against him, describing collaboration as the most effective way to restore peace. “The President should root out radical groups like Boko Haram and ISWAP. Work together so Nigerians can live in peace,” he added.

The PFN chief also emphasized the federal government’s constitutional responsibility to protect all citizens, calling for decisive action to address insecurity.

President Tinubu is currently engaging with religious leaders to discuss the country’s security situation amid U.S. threats of potential military action against terrorist groups operating in Nigeria.
