Osun PDP to APC: Stop Looking for Scapegoats, Fix Your Internal Crisis

The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed what it described as a “misleading and baseless” statement by the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying the opposition party is attempting to drag the ruling party into its internal chaos.

In a statement on Monday, the Director of Media of the PDP in the state, Hon. Hezekiah Oladele Bamiji, said the APC’s allegation of foul play was a desperate cover to mask its leadership crisis and persistent factional battles.

“It is laughable that a party neck-deep in leadership battles and endless factional disputes is accusing the PDP of fabrication,” Bamiji said. “The Osun APC is at war with itself, and its frustrated leaders are merely seeking scapegoats. Their problem is not the PDP — their problem is themselves.”

Bamiji added that Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration was too occupied with service delivery to be distracted by what he called “noise from a troubled opposition”. He listed ongoing projects in the state, including road rehabilitation, health facility upgrades, school renovations and prompt payment of salaries as evidence of performance.

“While the APC is busy trading blames, the PDP government is busy changing lives,” he said.

The ruling party maintained that Governor Adeleke has restored credibility and public confidence in governance, a development it said has earned unprecedented goodwill for the administration across the state.

Appealing to journalists and the public to verify information originating from opposition circles, the PDP accused the APC of resorting to “lies and deflection” whenever overwhelmed by internal disputes.

Bamiji reaffirmed the PDP’s commitment to peace, good governance and unity, insisting the party would not be dragged into what he called the APC’s theatrics.

“We have no time for distractions. We are busy working, and the people can see it. Let the APC fix its own problems — the PDP will continue fixing Osun,” the statement concluded.
