Katsina Governor Stakes Hardline on Accountability for New Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries

Katsina State Governor, Mallam Dikko Radda, has warned newly appointed commissioners and permanent secretaries that any breach of duty or misconduct would be met with strict action.

Radda delivered the warning during the swearing-in ceremony for three commissioners and eight permanent secretaries at the Katsina Government House on Thursday.

The governor reaffirmed his commitment to fairness and justice in governance, noting that diligent service would be rewarded while wrongdoing would not be tolerated.

“Whoever does wrong, if I know, I will take action. But if I do not know, by God, I will not be unjust to anyone,” he said.

Radda described leadership as a sacred trust, cautioning against the misuse of public office. He stressed that commissioners, permanent secretaries, and agency heads are direct extensions of his authority and collectively accountable for the performance of their offices.

“If you fail, you are not failing me; you are failing God and the people of Katsina State,” he said.

The governor urged all government officials to work in unity, emphasizing that the success of his administration’s “Building Your Future” agenda depends on sincerity and collective effort.

“Let us protect the trust of the people of Katsina State and serve them faithfully wherever we are,” he said.

Radda also congratulated the new appointees and charged them to justify the confidence placed in them by working diligently, maintaining humility, and prioritizing the welfare of the people.

“These positions belong not to me, but to the people of Katsina State. What you do in office should benefit them,” he added.
