ADC Emergence Signals New Political Dawn in Kwara, Bolaji Abdullahi Declares PDP ‘Dead’

The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, has described the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a “dead party” whose official obituary is yet to be announced.

Abdullahi made the assertion on Saturday during the official unveiling of the ADC Secretariat in Ilorin, Kwara State. He said the emergence of the ADC marks a turning point in the state’s politics, ending years of stagnation and disappointment.

“The party has been perfect and is here to stay. This event demonstrates that a new dawn has been set in Kwara, and this is the beginning of a new direction in our political experience. Kwara is going to be different because we are determined to build a party that truly reflects the collective aspirations of our people,” Abdullahi said.

He assured party members and supporters that the ADC is prepared to take the lead in shaping Kwara’s political future. “I want to assure you that ADC has come to stay and has come to demonstrate itself as the main party in the state,” he added.

On the rising insecurity in the state, Abdullahi expressed concern that attacks across Kwara have disrupted the lives and livelihoods of citizens, especially farmers.

“You can see that there’s so much insecurity cutting across all parts of Kwara. Our people are very worried because it affects what they know how to do best, agriculture. We hope government does more so our people can farm safely and sustain their livelihoods,” he said.

The former Minister of Youth and Sports also expressed confidence in the growing popularity of the ADC among Kwarans, noting that the party’s rapid growth in just three months demonstrates widespread acceptance.

“Would you believe this is a party unveiled only three months ago? That shows the people have embraced us. The question is no longer whether Kwarans want the APC; that question has been answered. They don’t. The question now is whether we can convince them that ADC is the only alternative, and that’s exactly what we’ll do in the coming elections,” he affirmed.

Abdullahi also dismissed recent defections of politicians to the APC, insisting that most defectors are unpopular with their people. “Most of these governors defecting to APC are hated by their people. The 2027 elections will be Nigerians versus the APC. PDP is dead; we’re just waiting for its obituary to be formally announced. The only opposition now is ADC. It’s either you’re with the ruling party or you’re with us,” he concluded.
