Turkish Furniture Manufacturer to Begin Operations in Osun — Adeleke’s
Industrial Drive Attracts More Investors
A Turkish furniture manufacturing company is set to commence operations in Osun State as the Governor Ademola Adeleke–led administration intensifies efforts to woo foreign investors and expand the state’s industrial base.
The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mr. Bunmi Jenyo, disclosed this on Wednesday in Osogbo during the public presentation of the 2025 Osun Trade Fair information document.
Jenyo explained that the foreign investment move was part of the state government’s economic diversification strategy, aimed at boosting job creation and industrial development.
According to him, discussions with the Turkish company have reached an advanced stage, and the firm has committed to employing no fewer than 500 workers once production begins before the end of the year.
“We are finalising the Memorandum of Understanding with the Turkish firm. They have decided to base their production in Osun because most of their raw materials are sourced in Nigeria,” Jenyo said.
He also revealed that a United Kingdom–based company was already in Osun to sign a similar MoU with the state government, adding that more foreign firms had shown interest in setting up operations across various sectors.
The commissioner urged local entrepreneurs to take advantage of the emerging opportunities, assuring them that the government had created a business-friendly environment backed by enabling policies and infrastructure.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Trade Fair Committee, Mr. David Awotipe, who presented the trade fair document themed “Positioning Local Content for Global Market,” said the event would showcase Osun’s economic potential and promote local content on a global stage.
Awotipe explained that the fair would feature participants from micro, small, and medium-scale enterprises, large corporations, financial institutions, and local governments, adding that the goal was to attract both local and international investors.
The new development comes shortly after Osun hosted an Industrial Investment Roundtable where Governor Adeleke reiterated his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, transparent governance, and private sector partnerships.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Teslim Igbalaye, the governor said the state was open for investment in agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, technology, and renewable energy.
“We are determined to make Osun a preferred destination for investment through improved infrastructure, transparent governance, and ease of doing business,” Adeleke stated.
He added that the government would continue to support small and medium enterprises while equipping youths with skills to thrive in a dynamic economy.
In his remarks, Jenyo described the state’s investment engagements as a continuation of the success achieved at last year’s Industrial Investment Summit, which attracted both local and international partners.
