Don’t Even Think About 2027, Jonathan, or Be Politically Crushed – Okonkwo Issues Fiery Warning
Veteran actor, lawyer, and politician Kenneth Okonkwo has launched a stark warning to former President Goodluck Jonathan, urging him to abandon any thoughts of contesting the 2027 presidency.
In a video shared on X on Friday, Okonkwo said any attempt by the Bayelsa-born ex-president to return to power would be “political suicide.”
“Jonathan has already served as President. Another four years would extend his leadership to nearly ten years, defying conventions and inviting backlash,” Okonkwo declared.
The former Labour Party chieftain further cautioned that the very forces that once sought to destroy Jonathan’s name are now in power and “will take his name to the toilet” if he dares a comeback.
The former president has neither confirmed nor denied speculations about his 2027 ambitions. Earlier this week, the Presidency, through spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, stressed that the courts would decide Jonathan’s fate.
Okonkwo’s warning has ignited fresh debate over the ex-president’s political future as Nigeria approaches the 2027 elections, signaling a potential storm in the country’s political landscape.
