APC slams N50m tag on Osun 2026 ticket
The All Progressives Congress (APC) today unveiled the timetable for the 2026 governorship election in Osun State, fixing the cost of its nomination process at N50 million.
In a statement issued by the National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, the APC rolled out key dates for issuance of election notice, update of membership register, sale and submission of forms, screening of aspirants, delegates’ congresses and the governorship primary.
According to the schedule, the process begins Friday, October 3, 2025, with the issuance of notice of election to the Osun State chapter, while membership update will run from October 20 to 31.
The sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms opens on November 12 and closes December 1, 2025.
The party pegged the Expression of Interest form at N10 million and the Nomination form at N40 million, making a total of N50 million. Delegate forms are fixed at N5,000.
Special waivers apply: female aspirants and persons with disabilities will only pay for the Expression of Interest form, while youths between 25 and 40 will pay half of the nomination fee.
The party stressed that only financial members whose records are up to date as at February 2025 will be eligible to participate.
Other activities in the timetable include screening of aspirants, publication of results, appeals and a ratification congress in line with the Electoral Act 2022 (as amended).
The APC said the timetable provides a clear framework to conclude its selection process ahead of the Osun 2026 governorship race.
