Ladoja Crowned Olubadan, Pledges Progress for All Faiths in Ibadan
Oba Rashidi Ladoja, the newly crowned Olubadan of Ibadanland, has promised to serve all residents of the city, regardless of their religion or social status.
The monarch made the declaration during a thanksgiving service at the Church of the Ascension in Ibadan on Sunday, following his coronation. He was formally installed as the 44th Olubadan on Friday at Mapo Hall by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde.
Speaking at the event, Oba Ladoja emphasized unity, development, and progress as the guiding principles of his reign.
“We are all governing Ibadan. I am just the coordinator. You people are the small Olubadan; I am the big Olubadan,” he said.
“Ibadan will be great by God’s grace, with your support. I am now the king of all religions. Ibadan is a fertile land; it shall continue to thrive. The success of my reign will not belong to me alone but to the Olubadan-in-Council and the entire people of Ibadanland,” he added.
Oba Ladoja’s statement underscores his commitment to inclusivity, peace, and development across the city, signaling a new era for Ibadanland under his leadership.
