1,420 Corps Members Sworn In For NYSC Batch B Stream II In Osun

 

 

 

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Osun State yesterday inaugurated 1,420 corps members for the 2025 Batch B Stream II orientation course at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede.

 

State Coordinator, Mr. Agbor Ndoma Obim, while addressing the new corps members, described their mobilisation as the start of “a memorable journey of service, patriotism and nation-building.”

 

He explained that the three-week orientation course was carefully designed to instill discipline, resilience, civic responsibility and leadership skills in the graduate youths.

 

Obim assured that the welfare and security of corps members remain paramount, adding that the scheme is working with security agencies and host communities to ensure their safety throughout the service year.

 

He cautioned the corps members to be mindful of their security, avoid unnecessary risks and apply restraint in the use of social media.

 

“The camp is a regimented environment. Discipline is a core principle of the NYSC. Sharing unauthorised content could undermine security and the integrity of the programme. Be ambassadors of the scheme and your families, both online and offline,” he said.

 

Governor Ademola Adeleke, represented by Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Moshood Olagunju, urged the corps members to see their mobilisation as a significant milestone.

 

He said the NYSC scheme has, for over five decades, served as a unifying platform for young Nigerians from diverse ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds, fostering peace, progress and national development.

 

“This orientation marks the beginning of your service year. Take it seriously. Your conduct and attitude will reflect not only on you but also on the institutions you represent and the nation at large,” Adeleke said.

 

He charged them to leave lasting legacies in the communities where they will be posted, whether in education, healthcare, agriculture, or rural development.

 

“Let this year not just be one of service, but of discovery and impact,” the governor added, while pledging his administration’s continued support for the scheme.
