Sanwo-Olu Approves New Permanent Secretaries to Boost Lagos Civil Service

 

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the appointment of a new batch of Permanent Secretaries, a move aimed at strengthening the state’s civil service and enhancing policy implementation across government ministries and agencies.

 

The appointments were announced in a circular dated September 23, 2025, signed by the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, with reference number CIR/HOS/’25/Vol.I/069. The circular was addressed to top government functionaries, including the Deputy Governor, Speaker of the House of Assembly, Chief Judge, Commissioners, and Local Government Chairpersons.

 

According to the circular, the appointments are part of efforts to “reinvigorate the state’s policy implementation apparatus” and improve service delivery to Lagos residents.

 

The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are:

 

Dr. Olufemi Motunolani Omololu – Chief Medical Officer, Health Service Commission (Island Maternity)

 

Mrs. Omotayo Layemo Sanni – Principal/Director, Education District IV

 

Mrs. Monsurat Titilope Alaka – Director, Finance & Accounts, LASUTH

 

Mr. Muhammed Tijani Babatunde Onigbanjo – Director, Admin & HR, Office of the Chief of Staff

 

Mr. Olutokunbo Olayode Oyenuga – Director, Civil Engineering, Office of Infrastructure

 

Mr. Rafiu Olawale Ojikutu – Director, Admin & HR, Motor Vehicle Administration Agency

 

Mr. Olufemi Bamidele Paseda – Principal/Director, Education District III

 

Mrs. Oluwakemi Amudat Adedeji – Director, Admin & HR, Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget

 

Dr. Adesola Ayodele Pitan – Chief Medical Officer, Health Service Commission

 

 

Mr. Agoro called on all relevant ministries, departments, and agencies to give the appointments wide publicity and to provide full support to the newly appointed officials in the discharge of their duties.

 

The move is widely seen as part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to ensure effective governance and improved service delivery in Lagos State.
