Kefas Embarks on Statewide Tour to Map Taraba’s Development Needs

Kefas Embarks on Statewide Tour to Map Taraba’s Development Needs

Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, on Sunday kicked off a comprehensive statewide tour aimed at engaging communities directly and identifying their infrastructural priorities.

Addressing journalists at the Executive Council Chambers in Jalingo, Kefas said the exercise is part of his administration’s commitment to people-centered development.

“I am visiting the masters I am here to serve and listen to. By October, we intend to launch full-scale infrastructural development across the state, but this must be guided by the people’s priorities. That is the only way to deliver meaningful projects,” he stated.

The governor lamented inheriting a state without a coherent development plan, emphasizing that “genuine development cannot take place without a roadmap or plan of action.”

On security, Kefas assured that his government has been investing significantly to make Taraba safe for residents and attractive to investors, describing security as a “non-negotiable foundation” for sustainable development.

He also highlighted efforts to revive the health sector, including the reopening of primary healthcare centres, acquisition of new medical equipment and drugs, and the impending installation of a CT scan machine at the State Specialist Hospital, Jalingo.

Furthermore, Kefas said his administration is committed to completing abandoned projects inherited from the previous government, noting substantial progress at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, the Abattoir, and the Palliative Market.

According to the governor, the tour will serve as a platform for residents to contribute to government decision-making, ensuring transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness in governance.
