The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, has congratulated the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu, on her 65th birthday, commending her enduring contributions to nation-building.

In a statement on Sunday, Senator Barau praised Mrs Tinubu’s humanitarian work through her flagship initiative, the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), noting its impact in addressing socio-economic challenges across the country since 2023.

“I join all Nigerians and well-wishers in celebrating Her Excellency, the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, on this milestone. A patriotic Nigerian par excellence, she has consistently contributed to the entrenchment of democracy and the advancement of society,” Barau said.

The lawmaker also highlighted her achievements as First Lady of Lagos State (1999–2007), where she positively influenced the lives of women, children, and youths through the New Era Foundation. Her tenure as Senator representing Lagos Central (2011–2023) was marked by proactive engagement in key committees and national initiatives.

“May God grant Her Excellency long life, good health, and wisdom as she continues to support the President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in delivering the Renewed Hope Agenda for Nigeria’s peace and progress,” Barau added.

Meanwhile, Senator Tokunbo Abiru, representing Lagos East, extended felicitations on behalf of his constituents, celebrating the First Lady’s unwavering dedication to public service and humanitarian causes.

“We honour your remarkable contributions, compassion for humanity, and commitment to uplifting the disadvantaged. Your leadership and resilience remain an inspiration to Nigerians,” Abiru said.

He prayed for her continued good health, strength, and grace, urging that she remains a beacon of hope and a role model for generations to come.
