Kano Police Arrest Key Suspects in Lagos Armed Robbery and Attempted Murder
Kano State Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in an armed robbery and attempted murder case that occurred at Bera Estate, Chevron, Lagos.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, disclosed that on September 11, 2025, operatives acting on credible intelligence apprehended two suspects in Kano. They were identified as 25-year-old Mathew Adewole of Na’ibawa Quarters and 31-year-old Mukhtar Muhammad of Unguwa Uku Quarters.
SP Kiyawa said Adewole admitted to attacking a resident of Bera Estate, known as Lil-Kesh, on August 19, 2025. The assault left the victim with severe injuries, including a deep cut on the neck, as the suspects attempted armed robbery and murder.
The suspect reportedly forced the victim to transfer ₦2,120,000 from his mobile account to that of his accomplice, Mukhtar Muhammad.
The police operation aligns with directives from the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, urging commands nationwide to strengthen intelligence-led policing, community collaboration, and strategic partnerships in crime prevention.
The suspects have been handed over to the Lagos State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution.
Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commended the operatives for their diligence and expressed gratitude to members of the public for their cooperation. He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to maintaining law and order through coordinated efforts with other security agencies and stakeholders.
