Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos, came alive on July 30 with a vibrant celebration of Nigerian heritage during its “GST 112 Cultural Festival.”

The event featured captivating traditional dances, insightful presentations on tribal histories, a taste of diverse local cuisines, and a stirring rendition of the national anthem in various native languages.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Shedrack Best, represented by Associate Professor Obida Yamma, underscored the importance of safeguarding African culture in the face of globalization.

Dr. Priscilla Makos, Head of the General Studies Department, noted that the festival fosters unity among Nigeria’s diverse tribes while inspiring pride in cultural identity.

Part of a mandatory course, the festival encourages students to cherish their heritage and share its richness with the wider world.
