Guber Poll: ADC Will Begin Rebuilding Nigeria from Anambra: David Mark
The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has declared that the party is set to form the next government in Anambra State, with plans to kick-start a broader national rebuilding agenda from the state.
Speaking through the party’s founder, Mr. Okey Ralphs Nwosu, at the flag-off of the ADC governorship campaign at All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha, Mark said the party’s candidate, Mr. John Nwosu, would be elected on November 8, 2025.
“ADC is the new coalition party gaining ground in both the North and South. Anambra is the birthplace of the ADC, and I believe it will be even stronger here,” Nwosu stated. “We are presenting a candidate with proven business acumen who will transform Anambra State. For too long, governance here has been dominated by self-serving mediocres. Our handshake symbol represents peace, and Mr. John Nwosu will be the first governor to champion that vision.”
Mark urged supporters to take the project seriously, saying the party’s victory in Anambra would be the first step in ADC’s mission to rebuild Nigeria.
In his address, the governorship candidate, John Nwosu, described himself as the only credible alternative to the incumbent governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, accusing the current administration of failure across critical areas.
“Governance is not rocket science, but it is also not a game of chance,” Nwosu said. “If Soludo failed in his first four years, he will fail again. He has failed on security, development, the rule of law, and respect for traditional institutions. Under his watch, Anambra has become insecure, plagued by criminality and bloodshed. This must end.”
He further accused the Soludo administration of subjecting citizens to harsh revenue collection methods, leading to injuries and even deaths. “Soludo’s ‘solution’ has become a ‘pollution’ to governance,” he declared. “Anyone supporting him for a second term does not love Anambra.”
During the event, the party’s national leadership presented flags to candidates, including Mrs. Justina Azuka, widow of a slain former Anambra State House of Assembly member, who is contesting the Anambra South senatorial by-election, and Mr. John Nwosu, the governorship candidate.
