Tinubu Approves Appointment of Five New Permanent Secretaries

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of five new Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Civil Service to fill existing vacancies.

Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Didi Walson-Jack, announced the appointments yesterday in Abuja through a statement signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Mrs Eno Olotu.

The new appointees are: Ibrahim Ozi (Federal Capital Territory), Ezemama Chidiebere (Imo State), Garba Usman (North Central), Mohammed Ishiyaku (North East), and Ukaire Chigbowu (South East).

Walson-Jack said the appointments followed a rigorous, merit-based selection process in line with President Tinubu’s commitment to professionalism, transparency, and excellence in the public service.

She urged the new Permanent Secretaries to uphold integrity, diligence, and competence in the discharge of their duties, stressing that their roles are critical to strengthening governance and enhancing service delivery across ministries and agencies.

“The new Permanent Secretaries are expected to deploy their experience and expertise in driving the government’s reform agenda and ensuring the highest standards of performance in the public sector,” she said.

The HCSF commended the President for sustaining his administration’s emphasis on meritocracy and professionalism, describing the appointments as a reflection of the Renewed Hope Agenda’s focus on building an efficient and accountable bureaucracy.
