Tinubu Okays 600-Bed Hostels, Road Project for Abuja Law School

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the construction of two hostels, each with a 300-student capacity, for the Nigerian Law School in Abuja.

The hostels, to be built separately for male and female students, are part of efforts to tackle accommodation challenges at the institution.

A statement yesterday by the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Lere Olayinka, said the President also gave approval for the construction of the access road linking the Body of Benchers Secretariat in Jabi with Nile University.

The projects are to be undertaken under emergency provisions, with the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, directed to ensure immediate commencement.

According to Olayinka, the road project, when completed, will not only ease traffic congestion in the area but also provide smoother access to the head office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

“The additional facilities will help ease the accommodation challenges faced by law students in the capital,” the statement noted.

The move, observers say, underscores the administration’s push to strengthen infrastructure supporting legal education and justice institutions in the Federal Capital Territory.
