EPL: SuperComputer predicts title winners after Man City thrash Crystal Palace
The Opta SuperComputer has maintained its prediction that Arsenal will win the Premier League title despite Manchester City’s recent resurgence.
Manchester City boosted their title hopes on Wednesday night with a 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace, even without striker Erling Haaland featuring from the bench.
The win leaves Pep Guardiola’s side two points behind league leaders Arsenal, with both teams having two matches remaining this season.
Despite City’s late push, Opta’s SuperComputer still gives Arsenal an 85.68 per cent chance of ending their 22-year wait for the Premier League trophy.
Mikel Arteta’s side are scheduled to host already relegated Burnley before travelling away to Crystal Palace on the final day of the season.
According to the prediction model, Arsenal are expected to finish the campaign with about 83 points, which would make it the lowest points tally for a Premier League title-winning side since Leicester City won the league with 81 points in the 2015/2016 season.
The SuperComputer also predicted that Manchester City would narrowly miss out on the title by three points.
