Uba Sani has approved the release of N4.289 billion for the payment of pension entitlements, gratuities, and death benefits for retired civil servants and families of deceased workers across Kaduna State.

According to the government, the funds cover obligations under both the Contributory Pension Scheme and the Defined Benefit Scheme, as part of efforts to clear outstanding liabilities and strengthen social protection.

The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Ahmed Maiyaki, said the move reflects the administration’s commitment to prioritising the welfare of senior citizens and restoring dignity to retirees.

He added that with the latest disbursement, the total amount paid since the governor assumed office has risen to N17.796 billion, benefiting over 8,000 retirees and families.

The state government also reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining pension reforms, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining financial discipline in managing public funds.
