President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday commissioned the new corporate headquarters of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) in Abuja, marking the formal transition from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to the restructured agency.

Speaking during the unveiling, the President described the development as a significant step in strengthening Nigeria’s tax administration and improving revenue generation efficiency.

“The corporate headquarters of the Nigeria Revenue Service was commissioned on the 14th day of April 2026 by His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This edifice stands as a lasting symbol of integrity,” Tinubu said while reading the commemorative plaque.

The event, captured in a video shared by his Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, featured top government officials including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Abbas Tajudeen, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, and the Chairman of the NRS, Zacch Adedeji.

The President also performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially declare the building open.

According to Olusegun, the newly inaugurated structure comprises 16 floors across three towers and has the capacity to accommodate about 3,000 staff.

The commissioning forms part of the Federal Government’s broader tax reform agenda aimed at enhancing efficiency, boosting revenue collection, and strengthening institutional capacity within the country’s fiscal framework.
