BREAKING: Protests Erupt in Plateau Over Deadly Palm Sunday Attack

Hundreds of residents in Plateau State on Monday staged protests in Jos North Local Government Area, following a deadly Palm Sunday attack that left several people feared dead.

The protesters, who gathered at Anguwan Rukuba—the scene of the attack—defied the state-imposed curfew to demand urgent action from the government over recurring violence in the area.

Eyewitness footage circulating on social media showed demonstrators chanting and expressing anger, insisting that curfew measures alone are insufficient to address the persistent insecurity.

The protest reportedly began early in the morning, with tensions running high as residents called for stronger security intervention and protection of lives and property.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang was said to have arrived at the scene during the protest, as authorities moved to manage the situation and engage with aggrieved residents.

The latest development comes amid heightened security concerns in Plateau State, where communities have repeatedly come under attack, raising fresh questions about the effectiveness of existing security measures.
