Soludo sworn in for second term as Anambra governor
Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has been sworn in for a second term in office.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at Dr Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, with a large gathering of dignitaries from within and outside the state.
Soludo arrived at the venue at exactly 11:18 a.m. in the company of top officials, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, as well as former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan.
Also in attendance were elder statesmen such as former Commonwealth Secretary-General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
The governor took the oath of allegiance at 11:50 a.m., followed by the oath of office, which lasted about five minutes.
He was accompanied by his wife, Dr Nonye Soludo, who stood beside him throughout the ceremony.
Soludo then signed the oath documents in the presence of the Chief Judge at 11:55 a.m., drawing applause from attendees.
The ceremony marks the commencement of his second term in office, which will run until 2030.
