Governor Ademola Adeleke has commended Living Spring College of Technology and Innovation for its commitment to education and innovation, pledging support for initiatives that empower youths and strengthen public service in Osun State.

The governor received the Rector, Dr. Kehinde Abiola, and members of the college’s management team at the Government House, Oke-Fia, Osogbo, describing the visit as “timely and symbolic of goodwill and a shared commitment to development.”

Governor Adeleke praised the college for its offer to provide vocational training for 1,000 beneficiaries and capacity-building programmes for 250 civil servants and other participants, noting that the initiative aligns with his administration’s focus on skills acquisition, youth empowerment, and public service efficiency.

The governor also lauded the institution for its achievements in artificial intelligence, particularly its recognition for the Best Institutional AI Policy in Higher Education, describing the accolade as a reflection of the college’s leadership in emerging technologies.

During the visit, Governor Adeleke received AI award certificates and a letter of approval for the proposed Lumina Open University to be located in Osun State, calling it a “positive addition” to the state’s educational landscape. He assured that all proposals would be reviewed by relevant ministries and agencies to explore potential collaborations in line with government policies.

Governor Adeleke further commended the college for its responsible handling of a dispute involving the school farm, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to constructive engagement and peaceful resolution of conflicts.

Speaking earlier, Dr. Kehinde Abiola expressed gratitude to Governor Adeleke for supporting the institution’s vision of equipping students with skills for self-reliance. He revealed that over 1,000 indigenes have benefitted from various vocational programmes, and preparations are underway to train about 250 civil servants in AI and other emerging fields.

The visit also drew support from leaders of the Fulani community in Osun State. The Chairman of Miyetti Allah, Alhaji Mohammed Abdullahi, and the Chairman of Seriki Fulani, Alhaji Ibrahim Babatunde, pledged their backing for Governor Adeleke’s second-term bid, describing his administration as inclusive and responsive.

The event underscores the state government’s commitment to fostering public-private partnerships in education, innovation, and economic empowerment.
