Adeoti Quits Omoluabi Progressives, Says Exit Was His Most Difficult Political Decision

Alhaji Moshood Olalekan Adeoti, a towering figure and Deputy Leader of the Omoluabi Progressives in Osun State, has formally withdrawn from the group he helped build and stabilise, describing the move as one of the toughest decisions of his political journey.

In a deeply personal letter dated November 30, 2025, and addressed to the Chairman of the Omoluabi Progressives, Adeoti said stepping away from a platform he co-founded with other ideological allies was emotionally overwhelming. He noted that each look back at the group’s early struggles, shared sacrifices, and steady growth made the decision even more painful.

Adeoti revealed that his family—both immediate and extended—had repeatedly advised him to take a break from intense political engagements. According to him, their concern for his wellbeing added a significant emotional weight to his final decision.

“My decision to withdraw was never an easy one,” he wrote, reflecting on the emotional and mental strain that accompanied the move. “But after much reflection and persistent counsel from those closest to me, I believe this is the step I must take at this time.”

He expressed profound gratitude to members of the group for the trust, loyalty, and friendship he enjoyed throughout his involvement. He also commended the leadership for their commitment to the ideals that gave birth to the Omoluabi Progressives, while wishing them continued strength and clarity as they chart the organisation’s future.

Adeoti’s exit has triggered quiet reactions across Osun political circles, where he is widely regarded as a stabilising force and one of the moral backbones of the group.
