The Kwara State Scholarship Board announced the approval in a statement on Saturday, saying Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq authorised the intervention as part of his administration’s support for students of the state.
According to the board, the application portal will open on Monday, November 2, 2026, and close on Monday, November 16, 2026.
Eligible students have been advised to visit the official portal, scholarship.kwarastate.gov.ng, to complete and submit their applications within the stipulated period.
The board urged applicants to provide accurate and verifiable information during registration and adhere strictly to the application guidelines published on the portal to avoid complications.
The Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development and Supervising Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Lawal Olohungbebe, commended the governor for approving the bursary.
He described the intervention as “a demonstration of his administration’s commitment to educational development and students’ welfare.”
Olohungbebe said the financial support would provide relief to parents and guardians while helping students pursue their academic goals.
He also praised what he described as the governor’s sustained commitment to the education sector since assuming office.
The commissioner reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to expanding access to tertiary education and promoting the academic advancement and welfare of students of Kwara origin.
