First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Arrives Anambra for Official Visit

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has arrived at the Chinua Achebe International Airport, Umueri, Anambra State, for an official visit to the state.

The First Lady was received at the airport by Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, his wife, Dr Nonye Soludo, and other government officials.

The welcoming delegation received Senator Tinubu and her entourage at the tarmac before proceeding with the scheduled activities for the visit.

The First Lady is expected to launch the National Community Food Bank Programme for the South-East Zone and commission an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko.

The Director, South-East Zone, National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Samuel Obasi, said the National Community Food Bank is an initiative of Senator Tinubu aimed at addressing malnutrition among children and women across the country.

Obasi explained that the programme is being implemented in collaboration with the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency and partners across the six geopolitical zones.

He said the National Community Food Bank to be established at the Amawbia Primary Health Centre will serve Anambra Central Senatorial District, while also supporting centres in Anambra South and North.

According to him, the facility is designed to provide support for children and women identified with moderate or severe acute malnutrition.
