Tottenham Agree Loan Deal for Man City Forward Marmoush

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a loan deal to sign Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush, with an obligation to make the move permanent for £60 million next summer.

According to BBC Sport, the 27-year-old Egypt international is set to join Spurs after struggling for regular playing time since moving to Manchester City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025.

Marmoush joined City for £59 million following an impressive spell in the Bundesliga but often found himself behind Erling Haaland in the pecking order.

He was introduced as a second-half substitute in City’s 3-0 Community Shield defeat to Arsenal and was an unused substitute in their Premier League opener, a 2-1 victory over Bournemouth.

The forward scored 16 goals in 62 appearances across all competitions for City.

Eight of those goals came in 36 appearances during the 2025-26 season, with Marmoush starting just eight Premier League matches and registering three goals and three assists in about 700 minutes.

His move to Tottenham could provide an opportunity for more regular first-team football under manager Roberto De Zerbi.

Marmoush’s versatility could also prove valuable to Spurs, as he can operate as a centre-forward, second striker or from the left wing.

His ability to drop deep, interchange positions and attack spaces could strengthen Tottenham’s attacking options, particularly with Dominic Solanke having experienced injury problems and Richarlison entering the final year of his contract.

Tottenham have already spent heavily during the transfer window, with their expenditure reportedly exceeding £312 million, including the signing of Savio from Manchester City.

The proposed £60 million permanent transfer would make Marmoush another major addition to Spurs’ squad as they continue their rebuilding process.

For Marmoush, the move represents an opportunity to revive his form after an inconsistent spell at Manchester City and establish himself as a key player in north London.
