The allegation was made in a video circulating on social media as voting commenced in the state.
In the video, the woman questioned the use of tear gas by the police, alleging that there was no fight or disruption at the polling area before the incident.
“Why would a police officer drop tear gas? They have gone with materials,” she said.
She identified the location as Modakeke Ward 10 and alleged that the action caused some corps members serving as electoral officials to flee the area.
“This is Modakeke Ward 10, come and see useless policemen. They came to throw tear gas at people, no fight, no disruption to warrant such action. The corpers all ran for their lives,” the woman said.
