Kalu made the allegation on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday while reacting to controversy surrounding the educational qualifications declared by Tinubu on INEC forms.
Tinubu has recently come under scrutiny over claims that he did not submit his primary and secondary school certificates to INEC.
However, Kalu alleged that the issue went beyond the omission of certificates, claiming that documents previously submitted by the President were forged.
According to him, Tinubu submitted allegedly forged documents to INEC in 1999 and 2023 and had continued to do so.
Kalu cited the constitutional provision disqualifying a candidate who presents a forged certificate to INEC, arguing that the matter should be subjected to proper scrutiny.
“The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria says no person shall be qualified to contest for the office of the President if that person has presented a forged certificate to INEC. That is the law,” he said.
He further alleged that Tinubu, in a 1999 declaration, claimed to have attended St Paul’s Primary School in Ibadan, which he described as false.
“The substance of this issue is: did Tinubu in 1999 submit forged certificates to INEC? The answer is yes. Did Tinubu submit forged certificates to INEC in the 2023 election? The answer is yes,” Kalu stated.
He challenged the President, his handlers and lawyer, Olajide Ogala, to respond to the allegation regarding the primary school claimed in Tinubu’s 1999 declaration.
Kalu’s claims are allegations and would require verification and determination by the relevant authorities or a competent court.
