Osun 2026: Oyebamiji assures voters of security, urges PVC collection

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the August 15 Osun State election, Bola Oyebamiji, has assured residents that no voter will be intimidated or harassed during the poll.

 

Oyebamiji gave the assurance on Wednesday during his campaign tour of the Ifelodun/Boripe/Odo Otin Federal Constituency, where he addressed supporters in Okuku and urged eligible voters to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) before the election.

 

He dismissed fears that the poll would be characterised by violence, urging residents to participate peacefully.

 

“I am assuring you that no one can intimidate or harass you to prevent you from participating in the poll. Any thug or hoodlum caught harassing people will be severely dealt with by security operatives,” he said.

 

The APC candidate also advised newly registered voters to collect their PVCs promptly through party officials and warned against selling their voter cards.

 

“Once you get it, don’t sell it; it is your power and licence to take part in the August 15 election,” he added.

 

Outlining his agenda, Oyebamiji promised an inclusive administration focused on agriculture, infrastructure, healthcare, education and commerce.

 

He said his government would prioritise rural development by supporting farmers, improving basic infrastructure and tackling hunger across the state.

 

Speaking in Ikirun, the APC candidate pledged to maintain an open-door policy, promising to listen to residents and promote participatory governance.

 

The Osun governorship election is scheduled for August 15, with incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is seeking re-election on the Accord Party platform, among 14 candidates contesting the poll.
