Erin-Oke Erupts for AMBO as Oke Leads Campaign, Opposition Members Defect to APC

Thousands of residents of Erin-Oke in Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State on Monday turned out in a massive show of support for the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, as the Director-General of the Osun APC Governorship Campaign Council, Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke, led the party’s campaign train on a royal courtesy visit and grassroots rally in the ancient town.

Speaking on the development, the Senior Media Aide and Media & Publicity Directorate of the campaign council, Omolebi-Sunday Segun Tunde, said the unprecedented reception reflected the growing acceptance of the APC and its candidate across Osun State ahead of the August 15 governorship election. He described the turnout as a strong indication of the party’s increasing grassroots momentum.

The campaign began with a visit to the palace of the Alua of Erin-Oke Kingdom, Oba Ayodeji Imran Akintola, Akintulure, Ilufemiloye I, where the delegation sought the monarch’s blessings and prayers for a peaceful election and the success of the APC governorship project.

During the visit, the monarch reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Erin-Oke, stressing that initiatives capable of advancing the community deserved the support of its people. He also acknowledged what he described as Hon. Oluwole Oke’s longstanding commitment to development and prayed for the success of the party’s efforts.

The campaign train later embarked on a road walk through major streets of the community, attracting enthusiastic crowds of residents, youths, artisans, traders, traditional groups and party supporters, who welcomed the delegation with music, dancing and chants in support of the APC candidate.

The procession terminated at Ereketa Square, where a large crowd of APC members and supporters had assembled for the rally. The gathering also witnessed the defection of several members of opposition parties to the APC, with party leaders assuring the new entrants of equal opportunities and inclusion within the party.

Addressing the rally, Hon. Oluwole Oke thanked the people of Erin-Oke for what he described as an overwhelming reception, saying the turnout demonstrated the desire of residents for a new direction in governance.

He assured the people that an AMBO administration would focus on rural development, infrastructure, youth empowerment, education, healthcare and economic opportunities capable of improving the living conditions of residents across the state.

Oke also urged eligible voters to remain united and mobilise support for the APC ahead of the August 15 governorship election, insisting that every vote would be crucial in determining the future of Osun State.

Other party leaders at the event included Hon. Caleb Ojo, Alhaji Soliu Alubankudi, Hon. Kunle Bolarinde and Alhaji Muri Balogun, alongside other members of the campaign council.
