Klopp, who currently serves as Sporting Director at Red Bull, has not managed a team since leaving Liverpool at the end of the 2023/24 season.
Speculation over the position follows Germany’s disappointing campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where the four-time champions were eliminated after a penalty shootout defeat to Paraguay.
The result marked Germany’s third consecutive early World Cup exit, following group-stage eliminations in Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022.
Despite reports linking Klopp with the role, current Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann has expressed a desire to remain in charge, with the German Football Association yet to announce a final decision on his future.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano wrote on X: “Jürgen Klopp would be open to considering a return to management if the German Federation decide to call him.
“Nagelsmann wants to stay but final decision in DFB hands. Klopp would be open to listening and keen on the project.”
