Osun 2026: APC inaugurates 8,970 canvassers in Iwo Federal Constituency

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has inaugurated 8,970 unit canvassers across Iwo Federal Constituency as part of its grassroots mobilisation drive ahead of the August 15, 2026 Osun governorship election.

The Senior Media Aide and Media/Publicity Director for the Osun APC Governorship Campaign Council, Mr Omolebi-Sunday Segun Tunde, said the exercise demonstrated the party’s growing strength and preparedness for the election. He said the campaign train received massive support in Iwo, Ileogbo and Bode-Osi, with party members turning out in large numbers.

The inaugurated canvassers comprise 5,100 from Iwo Local Government Area, 2,010 from Aiyedire Local Government Area and 1,860 from Ola-Oluwa Local Government Area.

Speaking at the event, Prince Dotun Babayemi expressed confidence that the APC would emerge victorious in the election, saying the party had put in place the necessary structure to deliver its candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly called AMBO.

Also speaking, Director-General of the APC Campaign Council, Hon. Oluwole Oke, urged the canvassers to intensify mobilisation across polling units, stressing that the party must convert its grassroots strength into votes.

Oke, who conveyed greetings to the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu I, said the campaign council was committed to equipping canvassers with the training and tools needed to carry out their assignments effectively.

He lamented what he described as poor road networks, inadequate health facilities and shortages of teachers in parts of Iwo Federal Constituency, urging residents to support the APC for improved governance.

At Bode-Osi and Ileogbo, the APC candidate, Oyebamiji, thanked party leaders, women, youths and other supporters for the turnout, promising inclusive governance if elected.

Oyebamiji said his administration would prioritise the needs of farmers, artisans, traders, civil servants, women and youths, while also addressing infrastructure and employment challenges across the state.

He urged the newly inaugurated canvassers to take the APC message to every household and polling unit, expressing optimism that the party would secure victory at the polls.
