Vice President Kashim Shettima, 18 All Progressives Congress (APC) governors, party leaders and other top officials have rallied support for Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji ahead of the June 20 governorship election.
The APC campaign grand finale in Ado-Ekiti attracted party supporters from across the state’s 16 local government areas, as well as Senate President Godswill Akpabio, APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, former governors and members of the National Assembly.
Addressing supporters, Shettima described Oyebanji as a hardworking and result-oriented governor, saying his performance in office has earned him widespread support.
He also cited projects commissioned in the state as evidence of the governor’s commitment to development.
Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, urged voters to support both Oyebanji and President Bola Tinubu, while calling for a peaceful election.
Also speaking, Senate President Godswill Akpabio praised Oyebanji’s leadership style, describing him as humble, trustworthy and committed to the development of Ekiti State.
Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose also commended Oyebanji’s inclusive approach to governance and expressed confidence in his re-election.
In his remarks, Governor Oyebanji thanked residents and APC leaders for their support and urged voters to come out peacefully on election day and exercise their civic responsibility.
