The inauguration ceremony took place on Monday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, and was attended by family members of the appointees, members of the Federal Executive Council and other senior government officials.
The appointments followed the resignation of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, who left office to pursue governorship ambitions in their respective states ahead of the 2027 elections.
Tegbe and Enikanolaiye were screened and confirmed by the Senate on May 6, 2026, following their nomination by President Tinubu.
A native of Ibadan in Oyo State, Tegbe is known for his contributions to economic, fiscal and institutional reforms. He brings over three decades of experience spanning both the public and private sectors, with expertise in policy implementation, governance and stakeholder engagement.
Enikanolaiye, who hails from Igbagun in Kogi State, graduated with a First Class degree in Political Science from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he emerged as the best graduating student in his faculty and received the Dean’s Prize.
He later earned a Master’s degree in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos with distinction.
A career diplomat, Enikanolaiye has served Nigeria in various diplomatic missions, including postings in Ethiopia, Serbia, Canada and the United Kingdom.
His most recent foreign assignment was as Nigeria’s Head of Mission in New Delhi, India.
Before his appointment as minister, he served as Senior Special Assistant to President Tinubu on Foreign Affairs and International Relations in the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President.
The swearing-in marks the official assumption of office by both ministers.
